Fibroid Tumors - by Djehuty Ma'at-Ra

This is a long overdue article for American females. So many females are plagued with uterine fibroid tumors, older women as well as young teenage girls. Well, what are fibroids and how do they develop?

Fibroid tumors are benign growths that form on the interior muscular wall of the uterus. They also develop on the exterior of the uterus. I actually call fibroids what they really are trash bags. That?s right! The average American female?s body is so toxic (just like the average American male) and the major eliminative organs (colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, and skin) are either sluggish or outright doesn?t work, that the body?s intelligence actually causes an internal trash bag to form in the body to hold the toxic fluidic waste. This is the tumor. A tumor is a trash bag. Tumors hold waste to prevent the waste from circulating throughout the body.

The fibroid tumors range in sizes from small cherries to grapefruits and cantaloupe. The amazing thing is that many women who have fibroid tumors don?t even know they have them until diagnosed by a doctor. At first they are not painful, but as they grow, the pain subtly sets in. If you could see what a fibroid tumor looks like, it would gross you out. A good friend of mine named Tanya actually had her surgical removal of a fibroid tumor filmed.

A cousin of mine had a few fibroid tumors in her body as big as lemons and oranges. She was only 19 years of age. So fibroid tumors have hit very close to home for me personally.

Fibroid tumors are primarily caused by eating and drinking dairy (liquefied cow snot/mucus) products, e.g. ice cream, sour cream, cheese, yogurt and milk; and eating meat (slaughtered animal flesh).

The number one cause of fibroid tumors is dairy products. I find many females are hooked on dairy, especially cheese. It?s mind boggling to me because they have no idea of how cheese is processed. In order to make cheese, baby male cows are killed and their stomachs are cut open and their intestines are added to the cheese because of the intestinal enzymes. This is true! Disgusting, but true!

All that ice cream, cheese, and milk chocolate will eventually do a female in. To eat dairy products is to sign a contract for fibroid tumors.

Refined grains also play a role in the development of fibroid tumors, but dairy products are the major culprit. Just imagine what?s in that fibroid tumor - mucus, parasites and worms, and toxins to name a few.

Some tumors can grow so big that they can actually interfere with pregnancy. Most doctors will talk a woman with fibroid tumors into having an abortion for the sake of the fetus and the health of the woman.

Like with all other diseases, you can be healed of fibroid tumors. How? By dissolving them with herbs (in addition to modified diet)! You will excrete them out of your body via urination and defecation (and clotting via menstruation, if your body chooses this outlet). It will take some time, but they will eventually dissolve.

Fibroid tumors can make sexual intercourse very complicated due to immense pain and post-intercourse bleeding. They can greatly threaten pregnancy. They can also cause heavy and frequent menstrual periods, in addition to lethargy and fatigue and weakness. 40% of American females will unfortunately develop fibroid tumors in their lifetime, beginning as early as age 12.

I put together a formula for women and girls with fibroid tumors called Fibroid Buster. After doing our 3-week Full Body Detox (to start the healing and cleansing process), you can begin the anti-fibroid regimen by taking 6 capsules of Fibroid Buster per day.

Fibroid Buster is a formula that will help dissolve fibroid tumors in addition to cleansing the blood and the female channel. Fibroid Buster consists of the following herbs: Ashoka, Musta, Red Clover, White Oak Bark, Burdock, Carbon, Yucca, Manjistha, Goldenseal, Dong Quai, Squawvine, Cayenne, Witch Hazel Bark, Comfrey, and Rhatany.

Fibroid Buster is a powerful female reproductive channel and area astringent and alterative. It is 100% safe and sane, all-natural, and purely vegan.

Introduction to Herbalism - by George Kakaris

Herbal medicine or Herbalism is the component of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (C.A.M.) which has to do with the use of herbs and their extracts for various conditions therapy and it is based on traditional and folk recipes from all over the world. Medical herbal products are used more and more in the modern western world for natural healing. Many herbs have been used for centuries and have been proved to be beneficial for various diseases treatment. Herbs are natural products, but this often leads to a common misunderstanding. Herbs and herbal extracts and supplements are not harmless. They should be used only under the guidance of an experienced herbalist, physician, GP or doctor.

Probably you do not know what is the definition of the word Herb, but it is most possible to have drunk an herbal tea or used a nutrition supplement. Although herbs are generally wild plants that grow in mountains, forests or leas, some of them can easily grow in a home garden or even indoor! Some of the most popular and commonly used herbs are: Basil (Ocimum Basilicum), Chamomile (Chamaemilum nubile), Oregano (Origanum vulgare), Garlic (Tulbhagia violacea), Peppermint (Mentha piperita) and Ginger (Pelargonium x nervosum).

Beware of the scam artist... - by Scott Wise

#2 Beware of the Scam Artist?

What is a scam artist? I thought long and hard before writing this article as not to offend anyone. Nobody would ever be complimented by being called a scam artist. A scam artist is one who takes your money for product or service and never delivers anything to you. They run off with your money to never be heard of or found again. I have found very few people in the world who are scam artists like that.

It has been my experience that there are similar traits in a lot people on the internet and I’ll let you be the judge weather or not you call these people scam artists. I usually find that program jumpers have similar traits and characteristics to the scam artists or maybe more resembling a swarm of Locusts. These people are usually people who jump ship to every new program out there on the internet. If a new program comes out, they jump in it, take all you suckers out there with them until they have sucked you dry and then move on to the next program.

Here is an article I found at http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_761574486/Locust_(insect).html Let’s see if this resembles any of the so called "Internet Guru’s". Locust (insect), common name applied to a number of jumping insects and especially to the true locusts, which are migratory grasshoppers (see Grasshopper). The true locusts cause great damage to crops wherever they swarm. Control measures include the spreading of poison bait and the plowing under of locust eggs. Infestations threatening large regions of the United States are combated with insecticides sprayed by planes and truck-mounted mist blowers provided by joint federal-state programs.

Aside from the true locusts, the periodical cicada (see Cicada) is another important insect to which the name locust is applied. Grouse, or pygmy, locusts are small, jumping insects that are of little economic importance. Most species are dark brown and are less than 2.5 cm (less than 1 in) in length.

Now, does this sound familiar out there on the internet? I would love to warn you about these people by name, but would never do that. I will however, give you things to watch out for and let you be the judge.

If a person has joined 3 or more programs in one year, they are probably program jumpers, which as we see above, have similar traits to the locusts and do more harm than good. These people are simply out to take your money. No wonder they are making so much money. They have perfected the locust style of business.

Aloha,

Herbal Remedies For Constipation Relief - by Sandra Kim Leong

Herbal remedies for constipation relief is a safe way to obtain healing without the use of harsh chemicals that can result in side effects. Harsh chemicals generally cannot be used over a prolonged period. Constipation refers to the difficulty in smooth bowel movements. It is a problem that many of us have.

Before touching on herbal remedies, some discussions on dietary changes is necessary as these are helpful for constipation relief. Constipation is largely a result of not having adequate fiber and water in our diet. Hence, it is recommended that you maintain a diet that is rich in fiber and one that involves drinking plenty of water.

Bulking laxatives can help in relieving constipation by adding fiber and lubrication that promotes bowel movements while cleansing the system. Psyllium husk, flax seed, and fenugreek are natural remedies that can provide bulk in your bowels; thereby cleansing your colon. You will have to consume at least a couple glasses of water when using this type of laxative.

Herbal remedies for constipation relief, such as cascara sagrada, are known to help stimulate the function of the intestines. You should, however, exercise caution when using certain herbal laxatives as they may cause diarrhea and dehydration. Irritating laxatives include aloe, which is not the same as aloe juice. It is very strong and requires close monitoring. Castor oil acts as a laxative, but can cause dehydration and chemical imbalances in the body.

Licorice is a safe laxative that can also be used in combination with other herbal laxatives to increase their effectiveness. Licorice helps by raising intestinal responsiveness; thereby relieving the spasms that causes cramping.

Another constipation herbal remedy is the dandelion root. Dandelion root is mild and can be safely used by those with chronic constipation. A tea made with dandelion root can be consumed up to four times daily as it is not a harsh laxative. Natural health experts say that this drink is recommended for those with a long term problem with constipation that is not related to diet or stress. Consider also drinking soothing chamomile tea to help soothe your stomach.

If your constipation recurs several times over due to an unhealthy diet and lifestyle, then do note that using herbal laxatives can only do little to help. It is better if you add herbs to your regimen of cleansing and include exercises on a regular basis to promote an overall calming effect. Additional measures include eating a cleansing diet, drinking plenty of healthy fluids, such as organic juices and distilled water and balancing your energy with stretching and yoga.

Herbal remedies for constipation should be considered if you are having a hard time straining over a few days. Harsh chemicals may be effective for the short time but they can also add to the toxic overload in your body. Hence, going for a natural approach in terms of constipation relief is highly recommended for optimal health!

Alternative Health Tips - by G Kumar

Qigong practitioners traditionally consider various herbs and food supplements as part of their practice of preventive health. With greater understanding of nutrition and research supporting what traditional Chinese medicine has practiced for thousands of years, it is little wonder that more and more people are turning to qigong for answers to today's health problems. There are many herbs and food supplements that can treat or prevent hypertension. Here is a list of those that can significantly reduce your elevated blood pressure:
  1. Vitamin C. A number of studies have shown 500 milligrams of vitamin C taken daily will help to lower blood pressure. However, avoid combining with grape seed extract. While there is no indication that grape seed extract reduces blood pressure, it has been found to actually induce high blood pressure when taken with vitamin C.
  2. Onions. Added to salads and other foods, raw onions can help to reduce blood pressure in people with moderate hypertension.
  3. Garlic. A natural antibiotic, it is antibacterial, antiviral and particularly, antifungal. Prostaglandin A, an active ingredient that gives garlic its distinctive odor, is largely responsible for reducing blood pressure and angina pain. Garlic can also act as a blood thinner and should not be taken weeks before surgery and during recovery. For best effect against hypertension, consume one or two cloves daily.
  4. Coenzyme Q10 or CoQ10. This is a compound found naturally in our cells and is responsible for producing energy in the body. Not only does it appear to help lower blood pressure, reduce the effects of congestive heart failure, decrease gum disease when applied topically, but also reduce blood sugar in diabetics, as well as alleviate migraines and protect the brain from neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson. People suffering from heart failure also have reduced CoQ10 levels in their heart muscle cells.
  5. Hawthorn berry. Called shanzha in Chinese, it is often used in Chinese medicine to treat high blood pressure and heart conditions and to aid digestion. For a reasonably low price, you can obtain a bag of dried hawthorn berries in Chinese herbal stores to make your own tea. Add hot boiling water to steep for three or four minutes. Works best with mild hypertension.
  6. Mung beans. In Chinese medicine, they are considered yin or cold foods. In its dried, raw form, they are traditionally made into a pillow to effectively treat high blood pressure and heat or sunstroke by removing the heat from one's body.
  7. Folic acid. A vitamin B that is responsible for red blood cell formation, it can help to lower blood pressure in some people.
  8. Calcium and magnesium. Make sure you get sufficient amounts of magnesium in your diet to help your body absorb the calcium. I don't recommend cow's milk, especially if you are lactose intolerant. Chinese traditionally get their calcium from soy milk, which I find is a far better choice.
  9. Soy nuts. One study suggests that a daily consumption of half a cup of unsalted soy nuts will help lower blood pressure in postmenopausal women.
  10. Ginkgo biloba. Also called bai guo or yinxing in Chinese, ginkgo nuts are often added to congee and other Chinese dishes. It protects against oxidative cell damage from free radicals, promotes blood circulation and acts as an anticoagulant. Avoid taking in large quantities — six or seven per day for three to five days is sufficient to lower blood pressure. Side effects can include increased risk of bleeding, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches and dizziness. Avoid using with MAO inhibitors or during pregnancy.
  11. Salvia miltiorrhiza. Also called red sage or dan shen in Chinese, this herb is often used in Chinese medicine to treat cardiovascular disease and to thin blood. When slow-cooked in raw form, the effects can be long lasting, though it may take some time to work.
  12. Chrysanthemum. Best taken as several whole flowers rather than as crystals or in tea bags. Steep in hot water for several minutes and drink a minimum of four cups daily. You can also flavor it with some raw honey to taste.
  13. Dandelion. Excellent for hypertension and congestive heart failure, particularly in the spring when it produces mannitol that is used in the treatment of high blood pressure. You can make a tea out of two tablespoons of chopped dandelion roots and leaves by simmering and steeping in hot water. Drink 2 cups daily.
  14. Panax notoginseng. Also called sanqi or tianqi in Chinese, it is also known as pseudoginseng. It has been used widely in Chinese medicine to treat all kinds of diseases of the blood. When ground into powder, it can be applied topically to heal bruising and sprains, and promote healing of broken bones. When slow-cooked in its raw form, it is an effective treatment for cardiovascular disease. Since it is also a blood thinner, avoid taking it before surgery and during recovery.
Always consult a physician before trying any of these herbs and food supplements. Some may be contraindicative to medications not mentioned in this article.

Solomon's Seal and Its Diverse Healing Benefits - by Forrest McDowell PhD & Tricia Clark-McDowell

SOLOMON’S SEAL AND ITS DIVERSE HEALING BENEFITS

For many users, Solomon’s Seal (Polygonatum biflorum) is a lifeline that restores them to an active and/or pain-free life. In our experience with herbs and natural remedies, rarely does a plant like Solomon’s Seal come along that is so quickly and profoundly effective in healing such a variety of serious conditions. A retired athlete, who has suffered for years from the devastating effects of countless injuries, finds himself miraculously pain free. A once active middle-aged woman with badly pronated ankles and knock-knees finds in a few weeks time that her knees and ankles are now straight, eliminating the need for surgery and enabling her to hike, garden, and mountain-climb as she did in her youth. A devoted musician and avid gardener experiences the healing of severe “tennis elbow”. An elderly woman with debilitating back and knee problems finds long-term relief and the return of her quality of life. A senior with a twenty-year low back problem and a shoulder injury from !
high school is back to normal within one week and finally able to sleep comfortably through the night.

Such stories of lasting healing through the use of Solomon’s Seal are commonplace. The average amount of time required to achieve good results is from one to three weeks. Occasionally, positive effects can happen overnight, while other users report gradual improvements over periods of one to two months, depending on the severity of symptoms.

Solomon’s Seal has been used and praised for centuries throughout Europe and Asia, where it is native. It is also native to woodlands in the eastern and mid-western United States. Well-known herbalist Mathew Wood, author of "The Book of Herbal Wisdom", deserves credit for bringing this remedy into the public eye here in the U.S. He writes: “I have finally come to view Solomon’s Seal as the single most reliable, useful and foolproof remedy that I have ever come across.”

The root of the plant is macerated in alcohol to create a tincture. A typical dose might be 5-10 drops, or less, taken 1-3 times daily. Tinctures are effective because the alcohol draws out the medicinal qualities of the plant. In addition, tinctures are quickly absorbed into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system.

A very partial list of the benefits of Solomon’s Seal includes the following:
• Harmonizes, feeds, lubricates, and tightens or loosens (as needed) tendons, ligaments, attachments and joints
• Strengthens and harmonizes entire muscular/skeletal system
• Helps calcify and strengthen bones and decalcify unhealthy deposits
• Can be used before resorting to surgery or to speed the healing from surgical procedures, especially in cases of broken bones and damage to tendons, ligaments or soft connective tissue
• Helps cartilage to regenerate through adjusting connective tissue tensions on joints
• Speeds healing of bruises from blows and falls
• Produces a “plastic response” wherein diseased or injured tissues return to their original quality
• Is a valuable connective tissue anti-inflammatory and can help moderate osteoarthritis symptoms
• Is useful in various female problems such as vaginitis, pelvic weakness, painful menstruation, and menstrual cramps (PMS)

Runners, cyclists, gardeners, musicians, athletes, carpenters, physically active individuals, the elderly, among others, and those who suffer from acute or chronic injuries such as those listed above, may benefit from the use of Solomon’s Seal. It’s worth considering.

World’s Largest Meth Lab Guilty for False Advertising to Kids - by Shane Ellison M.Sc.

Methamphetamine (and its chemical cousin amphetamine) is a highly addictive and dangerous Schedule II drug in the United States. Street thugs sell it as meth, poor man’s cocaine, crystal, ice, glass, and speed. They go to jail when caught. Pharmaceutical companies sell it as the prescription drug “Adderall.” They make hundred of millions of dollars.

Admittedly, Adderall (and meth) is great for learning an entire semester of college in a matter of 5 hours or bench pressing 325lbs. But it isn’t a vitamin. It’s a hardcore drug with hardcore side effects. And children should not be taking this drug daily! But America's largest meth lab feels otherwise.

Adderall, a cocktail of amphetamine salts, is manufactured by Shire Richwood, Inc. (Shire). Shire deals an estimated $345 million worth of this deadly drug every year. Their success lies in deceptive advertising to children and parents.

The FDA previously sent a letter to Shire stating that it was in clear violation of the regulations. The corporate crook promoted it as a safe and effective drug for a myriad of health abnormalities among children. Yea, “meth” for kids. Believe it.

According to Shire, meth can be used for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), depression and narcolepsy.

According to Shire, Adderall has a long ‘half-life,’ and therefore is “perfect” for kids who want to take meth before they go to school in order to be more private in their drug use.[i]

According to Shire, parents should, “Choose convenience ─ [your kids should] start school this year with Adderall!”

Shire insists that they have a study to back these claims – studies conveniently designed, performed and funded by them!

The study data was presented at the Annual Meeting of the American Psychiatric Association. [ii] The official results were, “We were quite encouraged to see that, at this stage of the study, not only has Adderall therapy been safe and efficacious, but every patient showed improvement in core symptoms of the condition, with no evidence of an emerging drug tolerance.” This is pharmaceutical fellatio at its best. Dr. Richard Weisler, M.D. is the guilty party.

Despite Shire’s non-compliance with the law, the FDA did not press charges. This is business as usual in the grimy, wealthy world of Big Pharma.

Avoid drugs by using naturally occurring amphetamines (NOA’s). They are safer, less expensive and work great at increasing focus; yerba mate, green tea, zhi shi, ma huang, sida cordifolia and Mormon tea. Our ancestors used them safely for thousands of years to increase mental focus and physical performance.

Managing Diabetes Naturally - by Dr. Rita Louise

Managing Diabetes Naturally

Dr. Rita Louise

When we eat, our bodies break down the proteins, carbohydrates and fats we consume to be used as the building blocks of our bodies. Carbohydrates, such as those found in bread, pasta, rice, potatoes and cereals are first digested and converted into simple sugars in the intestines and then move from the intestines into the bloodstream. These simple sugars are our body’s first choice for energy production.

Glucose, a form of simple sugar is the basic fuel the body uses for energy. In order for our bodies to utilize this sugar however, it must be transported across the cell membrane where it can be used to feed and fuel our cells. Insulin, a hormone secreted by the pancreas, and more specifically by the islets of Langerhans, which are scattered throughout the pancreas, stimulates our body’s cells to absorb sugar, thus removing it from the blood stream.

When our bodies cannot properly utilize glucose, thus causing it to stay in the blood, we are diagnosed as having diabetes. Diabetes is a disorder which disrupts the mechanism by which the body controls blood sugar. The build-up of sugar in the blood, characterized by diabetes, can cause the cells of our bodies to be starved for glucose and can, if left unchecked, lead to damage of the eyes, kidneys, nerves and heart.

There are two types of diabetes: insulin dependent or Type 1 diabetes and non-insulin dependent or Type 2 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes, is often referred to as juvenile or childhood-onset diabetes. Here, the pancreas cannot make the insulin needed by the body to process glucose. For individuals with Type 1 diabetes, while natural therapies may help the body be more receptive to insulin, they require regular injections of insulin to maintain health.

On the other hand, individuals with Type 2 or Adult-onset diabetes, their bodies produce varying amounts of insulin, but more often then not, the ability of their body’s cells to absorb sugar is diminished. While there are "classic" warning signs that often accompany diabetes, i.e., excessive thirst, excessive hunger, excessive urination, excessive tiredness, and unexplained weight loss, many people with type 2 diabetes do not have these symptoms. Individuals who are at a greater risk include people who are: over age 40, are overweight, have a family history of diabetes, have had diabetes during pregnancy, have high blood pressure or high blood fats, have the stress of an illness or injury, are a member of a high-risk ethnic group such as African-American, Hispanic, American Indian and Asian. For these individuals, natural therapies tend to work well.

Recommendations For Wellness

Reduce your consumption of starchy foods that are high in carbohydrates such as bread, potatoes, processed cereals, rice or that have a high glycemic index rating. The Glycemic Index is a system that ranks foods based on how they affect your levels of blood sugar.

Consume a high fiber, whole foods diet and work to eliminate preprocessed junk foods from your eating regimen.

Start an exercise program! In most cases, weight reduction can help those with type 2 diabetes. In addition to decreasing body fat, regular exercise has been show to improve insulin sensitivity.

Dietary fiber, such as psyllium has been show to improve glucose tolerance in some studies.

Incorporate brewer’s yeast or a chromium supplement into your health program. Chromium helps improve glucose tolerance by increasing our body’s sensitivity to insulin.

Supplement with vitamins and minerals such as vitamin B, Vitamin C, vitamin E, magnesium and zinc. Individuals with diabetes tend to have low levels of these important nutrients in their blood. In addition, these supplements have been shown to help to reduce damage to the eyes, nerves and kidneys - health problems that are often experienced by people with advanced or long term diabetes.

Alpha Lipoic Acid has also been show to improve insulin sensitivity.

Evidence suggests that supplementation with vitamin D can increase insulin levels in some people.

The herb Nopal can help to strengthen the liver and the pancreas thereby improving our body’s ability to utilize insulin.

Some sources recommend that you avoid the amino acid cysteine which has been reported to break down insulin and interfere with sugar absorption.

Stevia, a naturally sweet plant makes an excellent sugar substitute without the drawbacks of sugar. Stevia can be used in cooking as well. Visit your local health food store or look online for cookbooks that utilize stevia in place of sugar.

The Downfall of the American Diet - by Dori Schwaiger

Why are so many Americans heading towards, if not already battling an obesity problem? What are the main factors to this growing epidemic and what can we do to stop it?
Let's take an eye opening look into the downfall of our diet and our changing culture. Here we will outline the cause and effect and give you the solution to stop the rising obesity problem.
Cause: Drastic changes in lifestyle and dietary habits have contributed to a quick decline in our overall health, causing diseases like Type II Diabetes, Coronary Artery Disease, cancer, high risk of stroke and gallbladder disease to have an alarming effect on our younger generation. At this rate of health decline due to poor diet and lack of exercise our life expectancy rates are starting to decline and the cost of proper medical care cost will reach an estimated cost of over 100 Billion dollars. (These facts are taken from the American Obesity Association.)
Today's modern lifestyle is more comfort driven. People would rather ride than walk, ride the elevator over taking the stairs. Gone are the days of hard work, instead the majority of our jobs are centered around our computers and desks. Making the time our hectic, stress driven world to cook at home instead of eating out is also a contributing factor to the obesity epidemic. Fast food has become a sad way of life for Americans. Eating on the run and ingesting thousands of calories at just one meal or burgers, fries and a shake is not the way to go. Families are not taking the time to sit down and eat a properly prepared, nutritious meal together. A bucket of fried chicken and a liter of sugar laden soda, does not count as a healthy family meal, contrary to what the commercials may claim.
Time Management
Time management is essential to maintaining a healthy weight and way of life...this is possible to attain by following these easy steps:
* 30 minutes of planned exercise, 3 times per week can make a significant difference in dropping those extra, unwanted pounds.
* A well planned trip to the supermarket, list in hand, will lead to proper food choices and cut down on binge shopping.
* Keeping all the healthy ingredients at home can lead to preparing a healthy and fast meal for yourself and family.
* Cut out those daily stops to your local coffee shop just one latte and an afternoon danish can add over 1500 calories to your diet. If this is an important part of your daily routine, try ordering a simple cup of coffee or tea, this way you will still have your social interaction without the calories.
* Send your children and yourself out to play. People today spend too much sedentary time indoors in front of the TV and computer.
* Make sure yourself and your children get the proper amount of sleep lack of sleep is also a contributing factor to obesity. Did you know that your body repairs itself and also burns calories during the sleep process?
Learn To Make Healthy Decisions
Educate yourself about nutrition - There are untold books, DVD's, health videos and informational articles on how to achieve a healthy, well balanced weight.
Making the proper food and lifestyle choices are very easy once you are armed with the proper information. The food industry and other social media are the main culprits here - sorry to say, but your health is not what they have in mind. Your disposable dollar is what they are appealing to. Every year, absolute fortunes are paid to advertise in companies to get you to consume, purchase and eat all the wrong things. Extra fat, salt and sugar are added to every processed food that we purchase. Consuming these empty calories are also a main contributing factor to America's obesity problem.
Easy Solutions to End Obesity
1. Diet: Always eat a well rounded, nutritional diet of healthy fats, complex carbohydrates from nuts and grains, consume only lean protein, eat 9 servings of fruits and vegetables per day. This will be a mainstay of maintaining a healthy body and weight.

7 Reasons Why We Die of a Heart Attack - by Emilia Klapp, R.D., B.S.

According to U.S. General Surgeon, heart attacks and strokes are highly preventable. Thus, if more people die from heart disease than from any other illness, we need to give a serious consideration to what we are doing wrong.

In this article you will find the 7 main reasons why we may end up being part of the American Heart Association’s statistics.

1. We smoke.
The risk of dying of a heart attack is about four times higher in people who smoke than in those who don’t smoke.

Many of us are under the impression that the major danger from smoking is cancer but that is not quite true; smoking is the major risk factor for heart disease, stroke, and cardiovascular disease. In fact, about 40% of deaths caused by cardiovascular disease are due to smoking.

Smoking contributes to heart disease in the following manner:
• Increases blood pressure, a risk for heart attacks and strokes.
• The carcinogen components in tobacco damage the walls of the arteries.
• The carbon monoxide from the burning of the tobacco interferes with the blood capacity to carry oxygen to our heart.
• Smoking causes the narrowing of the blood vessels that carry blood to our legs and arms.

I know that to stop smoking is not a piece of cake but you have to make an effort. If you try, I am confident you’ll succeed. Be strong! Look for professional help to assist you in this task. And don’t get discourage if you have already tried and didn’t make it. Try as many times as you can.

2. We don’t walk.
Over the past 50 years, health professionals have examined the association between physical activity and the risk for heart disease. The findings consistently reveal that people who are physically active have half the risk for heart attacks than people who are not active. Those studies show also that at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity, such as brisk walking, on most days of the week, is sufficient to reduce the risk of heart attack. ˡ

Keep in mind that the heart is a muscle, and like any other muscle in the body, it becomes stronger the more you exercise it. Without exercise, it loses muscle fibers and becomes weak until it is unable to do its job. And the last thing you need is a heart that can’t do its job.

The direct effects of physical activity on heart disease are:
• Makes the heart stronger so it can pump more blood with fewer beats
• Lowers blood pressure by increasing the diameter of the coronary arteries.
• Lowers “LDL”, the bad cholesterol
• Increases “HDL”, the “good” cholesterol
• Decreases triglycerides
• Decreases the risk of diabetes, which is a risk for heart attacks

3. We eat too much saturated fat
There is a reason why health authorities advice us to limit the consumption of saturated fat:
• Saturated fat is the most rigid of all fats and is solid at room temperature. Solid fats are hard to dissolve and can easily get stuck in your arteries.
• Saturated fat causes the liver to overproduce cholesterol. The liver makes about 75 percent of the cholesterol your body needs from internal sources, while the remaining 25 percent comes from food. But when you eat too much saturated fat, your liver keeps producing cholesterol and you end up with much more cholesterol than you need.

Limit saturated fat consumption to less than 10 percent of the total calories ingested per day.

4. We ingest too many foods containing hydrogenated oils or trans fats Health authorities are concerned that the consumption of trans fats might have contributed to the 20th century epidemic of coronary heart disease.

Hydrogenated oils or trans fats as they are usually called, are produced artificially by inserting molecules of hydrogen in vegetable oils, a process called hydrogenation. Through this process, the oil, which is liquid at room temperature, changes its original form and becomes solid. In other words, it becomes saturated fat. In addition, the unnatural shapes of trans fats cause our cells to become malformed and to malfunction. And that includes the cells of the heart and the arteries.

Read the food label and avoid products which contain trans fats or hydrogenated fats. Example of foods that contain these harmful fats are:
• Industrial bakery such as cookies, donuts, croissants, cakes, and the like
• Solid margarine
• Fried fast food

5. We don’t eat enough fruits and vegetables We know that people who consume plant foods regularly have a lower incidence of heart disease than those who do not include them in their diet.

Fruits and vegetables contain phytochemicals, nonnutritive chemicals found in plant foods that protect their host plants from infections and microbial invasions. Recently, however, we have learned that phytochemicals are also crucial in protecting humans against many diseases, including heart disease.

Among the functions phytochemicals perform in our bodies are:
• They act as antioxidants
• They keep the walls of small blood vessels healthy
• They make our small blood vessels stronger
• They prevent platelets from becoming sticky and piling up
• They block specific enzymes that raise blood pressure.

Include about 9 portions of fruits and vegetables a day as part of a healthy diet.

6. We have too much stress
Have you ever felt strong headaches, muscle pain, anxiety, insomnia, and tiredness? If you identify yourself with some of these symptoms, you body may be going through an excess of tension.

Nowadays, 80 percent of the population suffers from some kind of symptoms caused by stress which many times end up in illnesses such as high blood pressure, a risk factor for heart attacks. Trying to cover on a daily basis more tasks than you physically can handle may be one of the major contributors to your stress. It is probably that one of the reasons why you succumb to disease easily is the level of stress in your life since tension reduces your capacity of adaptation to your environment.

You need to learn how to surround yourself with peace and serenity. Here are a few steps you can take to achieve your goal:
• Walk as much as you can.
• Add vitamin B to your diet. These vitamins have a calming and relaxing effect on the nervous system and are an excellent help to combat anxiety, irritability, tension and insomnia. Food sources of vitamin B are whole grains, green peas, fish, eggs and brewer’s yeast. Take a glass of orange juice in the morning and add the brewer’s yeast. Vitamin C is also necessary in this process. You can also add a supplement that includes vitamin B complex.
• Make nuts part of your diet. Nuts are high in calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, and chrome, minerals that favor muscle relaxation. You may want to include a supplement that includes these minerals.
• Have a session of osteopathy. Stress affects your body equilibrium. An osteopath can give you a massage that will help you reestablish the equilibrium you have lost.
• Give yourself 10 minutes every day to call a friend and chat.
• Take at least 4 free days a month where you can wake up in the morning without having planned anything to do. That way you can take the time to think what you would like to do that day. And if what appeals to you is doing nothing, then, by all means, do nothing!

7. We drink too much alcohol
Avoid high alcohol consumption. 5 to 7 percent of the hypertension we see in people is due to high alcohol intake. The Health World Organization estimates that almost 2/3 of strokes and 50 percent of heart attacks are caused by high blood pressure.

Limit your alcohol intake to two small glasses of wine a day if you are a male and one small glass a day if you are a female.

Final thoughts
If you make an effort to implement these seven guidelines in your life, you will be well ahead with the fight against heart disease. And the beauty of it is that you won’t be part of the yearly statistics issued by the American Heart Association regarding the amount of deaths occurred by heart attacks.

Remedies for Heartburn That You Need Now - by Rudy Silva

We all to love eat those fatty foods, since they kill our appetite. You know, the ones that we're not really supposed to eat. It's hard to change our eating habits, since we have had those habits since childhood. While it may be detrimental to our health, we go ahead and eat most of them anyway. From corn dogs, to French fries, to greasy fried chicken; we can't get enough of this stuff.

What happens when we eat too much fatty food, and our bodies get a little out of whack? This may result in some much-dreaded heartburn. Can you say OUCH? No one wants to deal with nasty, gassy indigestion. Luckily there are a few remedies for heartburn close by and available for everyone. You can get rid of that horrible chest pain, and do it quickly.

Have you ever had heartburn? Most Americans know this condition well. My wife is the only person I have ever known that claims she's never had heartburn. I told her, hey you need a heart to have heartburn. She ignored that statement, since she knows she doesn't eat like I do.

The truth is, most of us eat foods on a daily basis that can in-fact give us some sort of heartburn. Do you understand what heartburn is? Well, as you know, we all have powerful acids splashing around in our stomachs. Its HCl acid and it has a pH 1.0 to 2.5 which is necessary for dissolving meat. Fortunately our super durable stomach linings contain sodium which neutralized these acids and allow us to feel normal. However, sometimes when we consume the wrong foods, the stomach acids tend to go a little wild. This can result in painful heartburn.

Now it's time to pinpoint remedies for heartburn. Which one works best for you? I have to say that I rarely get heartburn, but when I've had it in the past, I bolted for the medicine cabinet. Simple treatments such as Tums or Rolaids do the trick for me. But I don't recommend these treatments, they only mask and suppress your condition. Also, I don't recommend using milk to eliminate your heartburn, since it may have the opposite effect.

You can use Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice Root or DGL. It has a soothing effect and if you have any tissue damage in the esophagus, it will start to heal it. Use 1 or 2 tablets just before meal time.
One other thing that works well is digestive enzymes. Take a couple just before meals and if you forget take them during or after your meal. Use the broad band enzymes, which help you digest protein, carbohydrates, and fat. If you have a stomach ulcer, avoid using digestive enzymes that digest protein and stick with DGL.

Using digestive enzymes for acid reflux is quite effective, especially if you are over 50. As you age you produce less digestive enzymes and the amount of HCl your stomach produces is also less. By taking digestive enzymes, you are saving your internal digestive enzymes. Your body can only produce a certain number of enzymes and if you use them up quickly, you will have to use a digestive enzyme supplement to digest your food.

Are you in constant search of remedies for heartburn? If so, you need to change your eating habits. Have an occasional bout with heartburn is not problem, it only when you constantly have it. If you decide to use drugs to control, you will pay in the long run with a disease that will give you more pain that the heartburn. Well, if you don't care for the basics and still seem to suffer from some serious chest pain, it may be time to consult your physician to get started with drugs.
